We have all heard the words “Affiliate Site” or the words “Landing Page” but what are they and how do they apply to Blogging and better yet Monetizing your Blog.
Good news their all the same thing,… Ok let me clarify, their not exactly the same thing but they more-so are pieces of a whole that work together most of the time through a blog .
What is an Affiliate site?
What is a landing page?
How do they relate to a blog?
Affiliate Site
An Affiliate site in essence is a blog, but it can also be a landing page which can be confusing but stay with me I’ll simplify all these.
An affiliate site is anything that sells an affiliate product.
Well then what is an Affiliate?
An Affiliate is some person or business that partners with a brand to promote a product or service in exchange for a commission.
Affiliate Links are sprinkled throughout your website that connect to a Product or Service.
Bloggers that use affiliate links usually partner with large Affiliate Networks such as Amazon Associates or Clickbank to offer products they have used to their audience.
Landing pages.
Ok Ok thats simple enough but what is a Landing page does that have something to do with airplanes… no not at all(ok i know, bad joke).
Simple enough a landing page is no more than a sales page, usually for a business or an Affiliate.
These pages are used as a sales mechanism usually long scrolling pages with videos and testimonials. Sometimes asking questions like.
“you want to spend more time with your family don’t you?”
or
“you want to vacation whenever you like right?”
This is a method businesses and Affiliate marketers use to get their audiences attention and explain their service or product in a long form to show results and testimonials.
Heres a ways of seeing a landing page…
A landing page is basically a digital salesperson!
simply used to help make sales.
Lead Pages
Now theirs another phrase used by online entrepreneurs you may have heard and that is a lead page.
Now this usually gets confused with a Landing Page and they get mistaken for the same thing but they are not.
A lead page is a way of collecting leads.
meaning in most instances its an Email Capture Page.
What these pages do is capture your email in exchange for something like a Newsletter or Free e-book.
The free e-book is what called a Lead Magnet ,its used to entice the audience into signing up to their email list.
Lead magnets are an Affiliate Marketers tool for getting leads hence the magnet part.
Affiliate Marketers use them as part of a sales funnel to acquire leads.
“Now how does this all come together for a blog?”
Well as a blogger or someone who wants to be a blogger as I’m assuming you are,
you share information and experience with the internet and when is comes to monetizing your piece of the internet these Marketing tools become very relevant to your online business.
Affiliate links bridge your audience to a product or service.
Landing pages tells everything a customer would want to know about a product or service.
Lead Magnet is a part of a sales funnel to collect some type of information from your audience in exchange for an email that person gets something free(usually an e-book).
Using any of those three things turns your blog into an online business.
